Meet Captain Chip

Captain Chip Willimon is a USCG Certified Captain with 47 years of experience fishing the lakes of Upstate SC. Captain Chip and his Dad started fishing these lakes in 1978 with one of the first Skeeter Bass Boats. Once they hooked their first striped bass, a life long passion was born. Back then, there were no bait shops selling herring, you had to go out at night and net them yourself. Captain Chip and his Dad spent almost every weekend on the South Carolina lakes learning the movements of the fish and the bait.

Most of Captain Chip’s focus has been on stripers/hybrids. But over the years he has also developed a real passion for crappie as well. Year round, he is building crappie structure in the lakes to be able to keep his clients on a productive bite.

Every one of our SC lakes fishes different from the other. There will be periods where one lake is fishing poorly but another will be red hot. Rather than fishing just one lake, Captain Chip is always focused on putting his clients on the best bite possible. So trip location may not be determined until a couple days prior to the trip.
