3-4-2025 Fishing Report

We are getting to a season where I rely much less on birds and am fishing warm up spots much more. Stained water warms up much faster than clear so on sunny days, I’m looking for some color to the water. I usually use side scan to find the bait. Then I start to look for banks that get full sun. Red clay banks and points and rock all heat up and hold heat more.

I really really down size my offerings this time of year. Little marabou crappie jigs will catch fish about as well as anything you can throw. I have had some 60 fish days on Hartwell lately on this pattern. Catching hybrids and spots casting with 4 pound test never gets old.

This pattern will last until water temps get to about 62 or so. Usually until early April.
